Microscope Imaging Core
Core Leadership and Personnel
The Director of the Microscope Imaging Core is Allia Fawaz, MSc.
Allia offers expertise, training, and support for a variety of imaging equipment, including dissection, widefield, and confocal microscopes such as the Zeiss LSM 900 Airyscan 2 and Olympus FV3000.
She also assists with non-imaging equipment such as molecular imagers, plate readers, quantitative PCR (Q-PCR) systems, multi-electrode array (MEA) systems, X-ray irradiation systems, spectrophotometers, fluorometers, tissue processing equipment, centrifuges, and hypoxia workstations.
Allia has developed comprehensive training materials, which include videos and detailed protocols that demonstrate how to use the equipment. Additionally, she has created competency assessment tools to verify proficiency before granting access to the equipment.

About the Core
Our facility provides comprehensive equipment and training support to advance human stem cell-based in vitro model development. We offer access to a full suite of essential research instrumentation that enables researchers to culture, analyze, and characterize stem cell models under controlled conditions.
Our equipment supports precise cell manipulation, real-time imaging, genetic and protein expression analysis, detailed histological examination, and the ability to simulate physiological conditions critical for stem cell differentiation and development.
