Announcing Dr. Groysman as ASCC Assistant Director

April 22, 2019

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Leonid Groysman has joined the leadership team of the Alpha Stem Cell Clinic (ASCC) within the UCI Sue and Bill Gross Stem Cell Research Center (SCRC). He assumes the new roles of Director of Stroke Studies for the ASCC and Assistant Clinical Director for the SCRC.

Dr. Groysman has been principal investigator and UCI site leader on multiple investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials, focused specifically on surgical implantation of stem cell therapeutics in subjects with recent ischemic stroke.

Dr. Groysman brings valuable experience to the leadership team at the UCI site of the UCLA/UCI ASCC, our CIRM-funded collaborative infrastructure award that seeks to accelerate the pace of clinical trials in regenerative medicine. He will also join the SCRC’s Clinical/Translational Advisory Committee. This is an exciting time in stem cell and regenerative medicine clinical development, and we are anticipating a sustained rapid expansion of our clinical research portfolio with Leonid’s continued assistance.
