Support Stem Cell Research at UC Irvine

Scientists at the UCI Stem Cell Research Center echo the mainstream medical community in believing that explorations of stem cell biology present unique opportunities to improve our understanding of disease and foster the development of new, more effective therapies for devastating illnesses.

Building upon previous successes in stem cell research, particularly in the areas of spinal cord and nervous system repair, the UCI Stem Cell Research Center opened a comprehensive laboratory facility that will house essential stem cell research tools under one roof. This new facility will enable the Center to strengthen its excellence in the neurosciences, expand into to new disease areas and continue training the next generation of stem cell biologists.

Private philanthropy aids the Center's pursuit of these and other critical initiatives, allowing our scientists to both achieve great success in the laboratory and inform the public dialogue on stem cell research. Donations to the Stem Cell Research Center facilitate a number of essential Center activities, including:

  • Public lectures on the science, ethics and policy of stem cell research
  • Research awards for junior or newly-recruited Center faculty members
  • Travel assistance for pre- and post-doctoral trainees who wish to present their findings at national scientific meetings
  • Community education efforts in and around Orange County

Your generous support will enable the UCI Stem Cell Research Center to build a research program that addresses the needs of thousands of patients in Orange County and beyond.
