SCRC Summary and Key Faculty

The Schools of Biological Sciences and of Medicine are pleased to announce the establishment of the Sue and Bill Gross Stem Cell Research Center (SCRC). The SCRC is intended to promote basic and clinical research and training in the field of stem cell biology at both UCI and collaborating institutions. The goal of the SCRC is to become a leading international institution in stem cell research and clinical application, by consolidating existing research strengths and clinical initiatives at UCI and serving as a nucleus for growth via collaboration and new recruits. The SCRC will provide an organizational structure for all areas of stem cell research, contribute to premier graduate training, maintain a core stem cell facility, host guest researchers and annual meetings, administrate fund-raising for research and facilities, and contribute to the research and dialogue on the policy and ethical issues related to stem cells.
