Collaborating Research Centers
UCI research centers provide the infrastructure needed for collaborations across campus and with outside institutions. Our Stem Cell Research Center (SCRC) was established with that goal in mind. The SCRC houses facilities and equipment that promote basic and applied stem cell research and training at other UCI research centers. Specifically, the SCRC infrastructure serves as a nucleus for:
- Attracting and recruiting new faculty
- Contributing to graduate and post-doctoral training
- Maintaining a human stem cell derivation and culture facility
- Hosting guest researchers
- Administration of grants and other funds for research at the SCRC
- Holding scientific meetings and symposia
- Consideration of stem cell research policy and ethical issues
